OCR Residents Guide

📚 OCR Library

A welcoming space for residents to enjoy a wide range of books across many genres. The library operates on an honour system, allowing residents to borrow and return books within a reasonable timeframe so everyone can enjoy the collection.

🧺 How It Works

  • Borrow any book you like

  • Keep it for around three weeks

  • Return it so others can enjoy it

  • No forms, no fuss — just community trust

🔄 Where Our Books Come From

The library is refreshed regularly with new titles purchased from the Rotary Club Bookshop on Hastings River Drive and from their annual book sale. These purchases are funded through the OCR Return & Earn Scheme, so every bottle and can helps grow the collection.

Residents are welcome to suggest new titles — simply let Ray know.

🎁 Resident Donations

Many books come from generous resident donations, which are always appreciated. Because the library is small, duplicate copies can’t be stored — but they are never thrown away. Duplicates are:

  • swapped with the Rotary Bookshop, or

  • donated to local charities

No book is ever wasted.

📖 Enjoy Your Reading

The library is here for everyone’s enjoyment. Browse, borrow, return, repeat — and discover something new each time you visit.
